Owned by the National Trust, Gumber Bothy Camping Barn and Campsite is hosting guests again. Occupying an idyllic position on a remote sheep farm in rural West Sussex. Access is by foot or bike only, so you are sure of complete tranquillity. Just immerse yourself in the sounds of the countryside; the bleating of lambs and the singing of birds. For walkers the Bothy is just off the South Downs Way.
Torran Bay Hostel will close on 9th April. It will not be reopening until it is sold and new owners take over. Torran Bay Hostel will be ceasing trading due to the ill health of the owner Mrs Sheila Brolly. Any bookings made will be cancelled and any payments made in advance will be refunded asap. Sheila will be retiring and thanks everyone who supported the hostel by visiting and staying. We will update you regards to any potential new owners.

The accessible features at Darsham Country Centre are as follow: Removable ramps allow wheelchair access to the entrance and to the 2 downstairs bedrooms. A basic disabled toilet and shower is also on the ground floor adjacent to the bedrooms. Please advise the Centre in advance if wheelchair access is required so the ramp can be put in place and any furniture moved.
There are lots of lovely places to visit: Alston, Blanchland, High Force (beautiful Waterfall), Barnard Castle where the Bowes Museum is, Nenthead Mining museum, Beamish Museum … that’s a whole day out, so much to see.
