The island of Anglesey (Ynys Môn) is designated as a National Landscape along all its coasts. The jagged headlands of the north, alternate with coves, pebble beaches and tucked-away villages, while the east coast has sheer limestone cliffs, interspersed with fine sandy beaches. The south features sand dunes that roll down towards Aberffraw Bay. Inland, drystone walls and hedgerows surround Anglesey’s traditional farm land and the high point (Holyhead Mountain) is just 219m above sea level. Recognised as an UNESCO Global Geopark, Anglesey is well worth exploring.
