In addition to the self-catering kitchens, hostels and bunkhouse have other areas to relax in. You are not restricted to your bedroom in an independent hostel or bunkhouse. Large hostels and outdoor centres can have up to 200 beds, but the majority of hostels and bunkhouses sleep between 12 and 60 people.
