Yorkshire Dales Dark Skies Festival
The Yorkshire Dales National Park was designated an International Dark Sky Reserve in 2020. Each February there is a Dark Skies Festival in the Yorkshire Dales – Chapel Gallery Bunkhouse is well placed for lots of the events, and we have availability over most of these dates.

February half term
Why not come and explore the beautiful Lake District at a quieter time of the year? Snowdrops are blooming and the daffodils are peeping through. We have availability in our camping barn during half term. Don’t fear the weather, the wood burner will keep you warm!
Winter in the Elenydd
There’s nothing nicer on a bright winter’s day than a good walk or cycle ride in the Elenydd wilderness and a nice, warm log fire when you get back to the hostel. Run by youth charity , The Woodcraft Folk; Lockerbrook is perfect for youth groups. You’d book out the whole place for a minimum of 30 people so you have the place to yourselves with a self-catering kitchen, large activity room and comfortable dormitories with bedding included. The location is fabulous with magnificent views and walks in all directions on your doorstep. We can organise adventurous activities and loan outdoor kit such as waterproofs and boots if required. At the end of the day you can relax round the fire and we have a large drying room for any wet kit.

February half term availabilities
We currently have availabilities over half term for large groups of families and friends to get together and spend some quality time together. We are a 34 bed Bunk barn with amazing views and lots of walks on your door step or a short drive from lots of activity’s and interesting places to visit. We are located just outside Grassington where they film All Creatures Great and Small.

Gearing up for School Holidays
Our 8 bed barn conversion and 2-3 bed cottage are both available this February half term. Whether you’re into walking, running, horse riding, cycling, wildlife, art, archaeology, astronomy or visiting local castles, there’s never a dull moment here. Not bad for a hill farm within Northumberland National Park 1.5 miles off the public road! Of course, you don’t have to venture far – for the less-adventurous, we have marked walks from the doorstep, and there’s a log burner and TV to curl up in front of. Walk or cycle all day in the hills, stroll along the quiet beaches, visit a selection of local castles, check out the local wildlife – the choice is yours, then return for a hot shower and relax in front of the fire. If you’re not so into the outdoors, we have a large selection of suggested activities on our website including links to local willow weaving and linoprint workshops.
