A place for adventure and to explore, the North Pennines AONB, the last wilderness in England.

Whether you wish to walk or run, drive or cycle around quiet country lanes, or just sit quietly by the river as it gently flows by the building, we have a little of something for most people.

Our accommodation is basic, similar to camping but without the hassle of a tent. But we are located in a quiet valley within the North Pennines AONB in the southwest of Northumberland. Whilst away from the crowds and hustle of busier places we are ideally located to be used as a base from which to explore.
There are walking/running routes that take you around the valley and over the moors all starting and finishing at the door. Our friends at The Hemmel Café in Allenheads offer amazing food for breakfast and lunches, a farm and craft shop as well as further routes to explore the adjacent area.
We cannot promise warm dry weather, but the landscape in this part of the world was created by water in various forms, much of this can still be seen in the many rivers, streams, becks with their beautiful waterfalls and cascades. Take a wander for our door and explore these great features, at Ashgill Force you can even walk below the cascade of water.
Our website contains a wider range of things to do in the area as well as details of booking, which is at no extra charge. Book now to ensure your preferred dates.
