St John's-in-the-Vale Camping Barn is adapted from an 18th century stable and hayloft, in an idyllic setting. Overlooking St John's Beck, the peaceful hill farm has stunning views to Blencathra, Helvellyn and Castle Rock.
The Barn has a sleeping area upstairs (mattress provided) with a kitchen and sitting/dining area below. A separate toilet, and shower are within the building. The kitchen has a hob, microwave, kettle and fridge. Pans, crockery and cutlery are provided. A wood-burning stove provides a focal point and warmth!
There is a BBQ and seating area outside and, as there is no light pollution, the star-filled night skies are magical. Northern Lights have been seen too! Home produced meat is also available along with our own free range eggs and preserves.
The farm also has a self-catering unit in the Old Hay Loft. It has a twin bedded bedroom and a sofa bed in the kitchen / living area. Perfect for a family of four or 2 adults.
