Bron-y-Gader is temporarily closed for winter until March 2024
Due to our remote and elevated location we are draining down our water supply to prevent our water pipes freezing.

Spend New Year in the mountains
Pentre Bach Bunkhouse is still free over the New Year. Why not gather a group of friends together and see the New Year in surrounded by the mountains of Snowdonia? The bunkhouse sleeps 16 in alpine-style accommodation with sleeping platforms and (thick) mattresses. Just bring your own sleeping bags & pillows. You’ll be hard-pressed to find cheaper accommodation around over the New Year.

The Sail Loft Bunkhouse can accommodate up to 25 people, on an exclusive use basis, making it an ideal location for larger family gatherings or get togethers with friends.

All Stretton Bunkhouse is nestled in the Batch Valley – part of the Long Mynd – in Shropshire. Shropshire is great county and easily accessible from most parts of the England and North Wales for those re-unions or family gatherings
Cycling groups can follow the alternative route in the Ravember Way Guidebook to spend a night at this bunkhouse.
Allendale Bunkhouse provides accommodation for groups on the Market Square in Allendale with cafes, and pubs nearby. It can be reached from the Ravember way by following the official guidebooks alternative route from Philipson’s Fold to Allendale Town along Isaac’s Tea Trail.

Walkers accommodation on the South Downs Way, as it crosses the River Arun.
The South Downs Bunkhouse welcomes individual walkers, cyclists & runners for single-night stays or longer. A beautifully converted barn on a working farm with self-catering kitchen, clothes washing & drying, and secure bike storage & bike wash. There are pubs serving meals and cafes within walking distance. If you fancy even more luxury there are Bed and Breakfast rooms just across the courtyard.
Why make a detour to Wooler from the Ravenber Way?
The Ravenber Way Guidebook provides an alternative route to Wooler close to the last leg of the journey. This leaves the main route before Auchop Cairn and travels via The Cheviot, Broadstruthers, and across Wooler Common. Wooler Youth Hostel is great for walkers with en suite bedrooms, a chatty common room, drying facilities, self-catering kitchen and pubs and cafes nearby. From Wooler head to Westnewton Bridge to pick up the next section of the route.
Stonehenge Hostel is just over 3 miles from King Alfred’s Way
Three miles from Amesbury with the possibility of a route avoiding the busy A303 dual carriageway. We would love to hear about routes from anyone who has cycled from Amesbury to Stonehenge Hostel. This YHA-affiliated hostel has a mixture of private rooms and dorms. It has a self catering kitchen and on site cafe which is open for breakfast.
Cyclists accommodation worth a scenic detour
Puttenham Barn Bunkhouse is a 6 mile off-road detour from The King Alfreds Way. Leave King Alfreds Way at Farnham and follow the North Downs Way to the village of Puttenham. Puttenham Barn, is a converted historic barn offering simple accommodations for walkers & cyclists. There is a volunteer warden to welcome you, excellent pub food in the village and a secure cycle shed.
Eco Lodge on King Alfred’s Way
Right on King Alfreds Way South Downs Eco Lodge, at the Sustainability Centre, provides private rooms with a shared self-catering kitchen, B&B rooms and a campsite with yurts & secluded pitches. The Sustainability Centre has a café and there are pubs, shops & take-aways 2 miles away.
Ridgeway hostel and camping on King Alfred’s Way
Often welcoming campers ,with hostel beds available at shorter notice, this hostel is only a few steps from the historic Ridgeway National Trail close to Wantage. The Court Hill Centre enjoys breathtaking views over the Vale of the White Horse, right on the route of King Alfreds Way. Reclaimed barns provide a community cafe, camping and hostel accommodation in small private rooms with a self-catering kitchen and a beautiful common area which retains the impressive proportions and atmosphere of the old barn.
