Wye Valley National Landscape / Tirwedd Cenedlaethol Dyffryn Gwy

April 4th 2024

At the heart of the Wye Valley National Landscape flows the river Wye, which has created one of the finest lowland landscapes in Britain. In the north, the river flows through softly rolling countryside across the Hereford plain. Downstream from Ross-on-Wye the river races over rapids and through stunning gorges. The Wye marks the boundary between England and Wales, and the route of Offas ancient defenses can still be seen along the landscape. Offas Dyke long-distance park and the Wye Valley Walk provide great walking routes and a way to view the landscape. High above the Wye, just off Offa’s Dyke and close to St Briavels Castle, the quirky bunkhouse at Camp Hillcrest offers access to the national landscape by providing good value hostel-style accommodation. It can be booked by the bed, by the room or for sole use of the whole bunkhouse.

It’s a first: A hostel with it’s own skate park!

March 30th 2023

If you love the quirky things in life, you’ll love Camp Hillcrest. There’s an indoor & an outdoor skate park, a wood-fired hot tub (you pay extra for this, but it’s well worth it) and a friendly relaxed atmosphere where chickens & dogs run free and the resident pigs are there to be stroked. Top this up with fabulous views, a stunning setting and great hosts and you’ve found the place where everyone, whatever their age, will love to stay.

Choose to stay in the bunkhouse, you can book by the bed or the room, or book the whole place.  Alternatively, there’s the converted horsebox, the self-contained flat or you can camp in the grounds.  Why not book everything, father friends and/or family and have a fun-filled get-together?
