Toad Hall is a small hostel beside the River Dovey, close to Snowdonia National Park. It is not far from the centre of the lively town of Machynlleth, which has an alternative feel and an annual comedy festival. NCN Cycle route 8 and Glyndwrs Way route pass through Machynlleth. Cader Idris mountain is 6 miles away. Toad Hall Hostel has a four bed-roomed self contained accommodation unit above the family home. There is a mixture of double, twin and bunk beds and bedding is supplied for a small cost. The small self-catering kitchen has seating for 4 and there is a basic shower room. There is a large games room with seating around an open fire which is available until 9pm at night. The hostel is a centrally heated older building providing simple accommodation. There is a flat garden for camping or bike/canoe storage and a workshop for bike repairs. Under 18s and well behaved dogs welcome by agreement. Book in advance. Toad Hall is situated directly behind the car park of the Tuffins/Texaco petrol station. Tuffins/Texico is on the main road in Machynlleth very close to the railway station.

Taking place during the early May bank Holiday, this event is now in its 15th year. A loop through the Dyfi forest, starting and finishing in Machynlleth town with plenty of sustenance and entertainments at the head quarters show grounds.
Stay at Toad Hall and visit King Arthur’s Labyrinth
Situated beneath the mountains of southern Snowdonia, King Arthur’s Labyrinth is a subterranean Dark Ages themed attraction fit for all ages. Visitors can join a hooded boatman for a boat ride through a waterfall before the mysterious figure provides a guided tour of the caverns and underground tunnels. Guests can learn about Celtic myths and stories of King Arthur’s battles as they make their way through the Labyrinth. Theres a great deal on groupon at the moment.
