OverviewToad Hall sits beside the River Dovey, close to Snowdonia National Park. It is near to the centre of the lively town of Machynlleth, which has an alternative feel and a popular annual comedy festival. NCN Cycle route 8 and Glyndwrs Way route pass through the town. Cader Idris mountain is 6 miles away. Toad Hall has a three bed-roomed self contained accommodation unit above the owner's family home. There is a mixture of family, double and twin rooms and full bedding is supplied. There is a small self-catering kitchen and a single shower room. There is a very large games room with seating around an open fire (occasionally lit) which is available for use until 9 at night. The accommodation has modern gas fired central heating and double glazing. There is a small flat garden suitable for camping, and a small workshop for bike repair/storage. Right on the route, 140 miles from Cardiff Bay with 110 miles to get to Holyhead. Toad Hall is in the thriving market town of Machynlleth. The hostel consists of a three bed-roomed self contained unit above the owner’s home, with private rooms and fully made up beds. The garden is ideal for camping and there’s a small workshop for bike repair/storage.
The Lon Las Cymru cycles route runs from Cardiff or Chepstow to Holyhead, passing through the mountains of Wales. It passes through the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia National Parks and over the Black Mountains and Cambrian Mountains of mid-Wales, taking in some of the most stunning landscapes in Britain.

Toad Hall does not have bunks and most guests have private rooms with the beds made up with freshly laundered bedding.
Booking a room here is more like staying in a simple B&B with no breakfast provided. With notice we can buy food in for the guest and leave it for them in the self catering kitchen.

Latin American music, culture, politics & the spirit of Victor Jara in the beautiful welsh town of Machynlleth, home to Toad Hall hostel accommodation.
This festival is inspired by the life and music of Victor Jara. This visionary musician and theatre director was part of the New Song movement in Salvador Allende’s Chile. Find out more about the festival here.
