The character of the High Weald was established by the 14th century and traces of the medieval landscape can still be seen. The term ‘Weald’ is given to the area between the North and South Downs, a country of ridges and valleys covered by a patchwork of fields and woods. Originally a boarding school, Gaveston Hall is on the west border of the High Weald in rural west Sussex. Gaveston Hall provides great value hostel-style accommodation for groups of up to 100. Groups of all sizes including schools, universities and clubs are all welcome.
