OverviewLocated right in the centre of Dolgellau, Plas Isa provides relaxed, cosy accommodation aimed at independent travellers, individuals, couples, families and small groups. The building is Grade II listed and is next to the Golden Lion Hotel. The rooms have single beds which can be amalgamated to make super king sized doubles for couples or remain as singles for groups. The showers are separate and allocated per room. All bedding included. To comply with Covid regulations, we currently split the house in two completely separate self-contained units.
Option 1: Two spacious, newly decorated bedrooms on the first floor, have both bunkbeds and single beds (4 beds per room). The dining room, with its large table is the central place in our house for meals and planning your next adventure. Our fully equipped kitchen is a great place to cook up a hearty meal after a day out and about. Price: £80.00 for the first 2 people + £25.00 per person per night for every person thereafter.
Option 2: Our quirky family room with 3 bunkbeds and 2 single beds. The lounge with comfortable chairs and a couch is a great room to relax after an active day. There are coffee/tea making facilities including a small fridge Crockery and cutlery is available, in case you wish to bring back a take away. £60.00 for the first 2 people + £25.00 per person per night for every person thereafter.
Great stop for walkers on the Snowdonia Way, Cambrian Way or exploring the endless other walking trails in the area. Cadair Idris is close by and the Mawddach Trail starts from the backdoor. Customers can either walk or cycle the 9 miles to Barmouth along the estuary. For mountain bikers and cyclists (Lon Las Cymru route) cycle storage is available.

Directions:Right in the centre of Dolgellau, park in the short stay car park by the river (just before/after the bridge). Walk through the alley next to the Yr Hen Efail cafe to Lion Street. Plas Isa is on your right.
Public Transport:Busses from Aberystwyth, Wrexham, Bala, Barmouth, Tywyn, Machynlleth and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Nearest train stations are Barmouth, Morfa Mawddach or Machynlleth.

Whether you fancy a stroll along the beach or the river to a waterfall. You can follow in the footsteps of the old Edwardians on the Precipice Walk. Perhaps you rather lose yourself high up in the mountains where you not see a sole for hours on end. How about a long distance trail like the Snowdonia Way or the Cambrian Way. We’ve got it all, right here in the south of Snowdonia National Park.

If you are a hardy walker looking for a new challenge, don’t look any further and start planning the Cambrian Way now. Wales’ most scenically beautiful and challenging long distance trail Coast to Coast – Cardiff to Conwy.
In the northern section, the route takes you up Cader Idris. Take your time to enjoy the views, knowing that after the descent you will have a good night’s rest at Plas Isa. Next the Rhinog Mountains are awaiting, requiring your scrambling skills.
Plas Isa is in the centre of Dolgellau with plenty of shops on our doorstep to replenish your supplies. With regards to accommodation, we have 2 fully self-contained options – you can either book just a room with access to our lounge where you are welcome to bring back your take away’s. If you rather cook your own meals, opt for a room with access to our equipped kitchen. Whichever option you prefer, you will have your own designated bathroom and a super comfy bed.
Lôn Las Cymru (National Cycle Route 8) – cycling through the heart of Wales

We are right on the Lôn Las Cymru route. The Mawddach Trail, that follows an old railway line to Barmouth, is part of the route and startst our backdoor. Plas Isa is in the centre of Dolgellau with plenty of shops on our doorstep to replenish your supplies. We have a drying room, that doubles up as bike storage for 6-8 bicycles. If you need any bike repairs, Mike at Dolgellau Cycles is happy to help where he can, to get you back on the road as quickly as possible.
