The Bunkhouse offers a generous and welcoming space, sleeping up to four guests in an open-plan layout. Two bunk beds are tucked into the living area, making it ideal for families or groups of friends. With underfloor heating, a comfortable seating area, dining space and a practical kitchen, it’s a warm and inviting base for walkers, adventurers, and anyone looking to slow down, switch off and reconnect in peaceful surroundings.
Guests benefit from its generously sized outside space, with room to enjoy meals outdoors, unwind in the fresh air and take in the surrounding valley views. Off-road parking makes it practical for group stays, and the peaceful setting allows you to fully switch off from the world.
There are endless walking routes in the valley or hills your boots won't want to miss out on. From the bunkhouse door, explore the scenic Tanat Valley, Glyn Ceiriog Valley and Berwyn Hills. The Berwyns are far less crowded than Snowdonia, but just as beautiful. Explore the routes on the Berwyn Range one of the region’s best-kept secrets.
Britain's tallest single drop waterfall at Pistyll Rhaeadr is nearby & well worth a visit; as is Rhiwargor waterfall, at Lake Vyrnwy. While Lake Bala for exhilarating watersports, Llangollen with it's famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and the the British Iron Works with it's phenomenal metal sculptures are all a short drive away.
A preference to exploring on wheels, jump on your bike for a scenic ride around the valley, local villages & country pubs; get your mountain bike dirty at Revolution downhill mountain bike course or enjoy the thrill of off-road biking with the well-known Mick Extance. All nearby.
Tucked away on the site there are also 2 traditional shepherds huts (with either a double or king sized bed), they make the perfect romantic retreat for couples, or extra space for larger groups. The huts have fabulous private decked areas with a selection of outdoor furniture, chiminea, BBQ and a hot tub.
Everyone is welcome!- friends & families - explorers, adventurers, celebrators, thrill-seekers, relaxors & those who want to be immersed in a stunning rural landscape with no noise, no stress; just peace & quiet.
The hosts are happy to collect guests (4 max) staying in the Wild Valley Bunkhouse or Huts, who are completing the Offa's Dyke Challenge or Berwyn Mountain Range. (Prior arrangement required).

INSPIRED TO ACCOMPLISH THE BERWYN MOUNTAINS?
May 19th 2026
The Berwyn Mountains are a stunningly beautiful part of North Wales that are overshadowed by its big brother Snowdonia National Park, which sits to the west of the Berwyns.
Unlike Snowdonia, which often feels crowded and busy, the Berwyns get fewer visitors which means you often have paths & trails to yourself. If you’re looking for somewhere to go walking in North Wales, you’ve just stumbled upon one of the region’s best-kept secrets.
BERWYN MOUNTAINS – WALKS FROM THE DOORSTEP
From the doorstep, there are endless walking routes to explore the Berwyn Mountains. Which challenge below would excite you the most?
The Biggest Challenge – You may start the Berwyn Range – 177 miles in total. This mountain range is less walked than mountains in Snowdonia, but the Berwyns includes some high ridges with beautiful views and challenging aspects. The Berwyn Range roughly stretches from Llangollen in the east to Bala in the west. The route is made up of 5 sections with easily accessible starting & finishing points.
The Highest Mountain- Cadair Berwyn is the tallest mountain in the Berwyn range. The name translates to ‘Chair of the White Summit.’ On a clear day, the views from the summit are stunning, with Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons visible. These are the most popular routes to Cadair Berwyn.
The Natural Wonder – Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall is the tallest single drop waterfall in Britain; falling 80m and it’s located in the Berwyns. It’s a spectacular waterfall and there are walks exploring the waterfall as well as venturing further into the Berwyns. These are recommended walks that include the waterfall.

Summits, Lakes & Waterfalls – It is a great opportunity to walk to the famous waterfall from the bunkhouse doorstep. A 13-mile route that takes in Cwm Maengwynedd, Berwyn Mountain summits including Cadair Bronwen, Cadair Berwyn & Moel Sych. Walking near Llyn Lluncaws & Tan-y-Pistyll (home to the famous waterfall), there is lots to experience on this route.
