OverviewThis Victorian-Gothic mansion is located in Dorset's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with easy access to the Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis, and the Wessex and Monarch's Way long distance footpaths. B&B is from £35 per bed and dorm style accommodation is available for £20. Guests can use the vegetarian self-catering kitchen to prepare their own meal or vegetarian meals can be pre-booked. It is also possible to camp in the grounds. Monkton Wyld Court is a charity promoting ways of living sustainably. Volunteers live communally and heat and cook using wood. Fresh water comes from wells and is UV treated; the volunteers use compost loos. Fruit and vegetables are grown in the organic garden; and three Jersey cows provide all the milk, yoghurt and cheese. Flush toilets and private rooms available for guests.

Directions:Off A35 between Bridport (East) and Axminster (West), about 4 miles north of Lyme Regis. Monkton Wyld is sign-posted from the A35; 1 mile up the lane you will see St Andrew's Church on left, driveway is just beyond it on right.
Public Transport:Train to Axminster. First Bus from station (direction Lyme Regis / Bridport) to Hunter's Lodge (10min) + 40 min walk along B-road and lanes.

Come and stay with us at our idyllic coutry house and grounds. We’re taking bookings for summer for camping and bed & breakfast. You can book through our website or by giving us a call.
We have an organic vegetable garden, micro-dairy, WET sewage system and twelve acres of gorgeous grounds to explore.

Fancy a change to raise the spirits? Come and spend a few nights with your family in our Victorian gothic mansion in Dorset, (subject to latest COVID restrictions). There’s lovely walking nearby plus the Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis. The world will seem a better place after a few days away.
Only three spots available now. You’ll also have access to our twelve acres of grounds including a stream, woodland and there will be one o four community members who will be on hand to happily give you a tour of the site including our walled garden and adjacent farm. We’ve got a lot of amazing courses running this year once lockdown starts to ease. From natural building to scything, we’ve got loads going on with even more planned.

Come stay in our truly magical 19th century house this Christmas.
A beautiful home for your bubble this Christmas? It can be. Spacious and brimming with character. Fresh dairy is available on site, courtesy of Folly the cow. Helping avoid a cheeseless christmas disaster! West dorset comes alive at christmas and what better place to spend it surrounded by family in a gorgeous Gothic mansion. Available for a large family group 23rd – 27th of December as per the govt guidelines. Up to three bubbles can hire our house for the four nights for a cosy Christmas. There is only one slot for this booking as you would be the only guests in the house.
The cost is £1600. A deposit of £400 would be required to secure your place.

Intrigued by all we had read about Monkton Wyld Court we made a tiny detour on our holiday to Lyme Regis to stay for a night in this Gothic mansion. What a privilege it felt to spend time in this simply furnished building with its ornate ecclesiastical architecture.Read More
