A great place for your 1st night’s stop-over
Bunkorama Bunkhouse occupying a splendid position overlooking Cardigan Bay makes for a perfect 1st night’s stop-over on your Traws Eyri adventure, (if you start your route at Machynlleth). Just 7.5 miles from the route at Pen-y- Bryn (just north of Penmaenpool), the extra few miles are well worth it for the fantastic view and the cosy, great value accommodation. Bunkorama sleeps 8/10 in two dorms.

Toad Hall offers simple private rooms to cyclists on the Traws Eyri route. Centrally heated and double glazed, there’s a small self-catering kitchen. Outside there’s a small flat garden suitable for camping if you prefer, and a small workshop for bike repair/storage.
Kent Downs National Landscape
The Kent Downs National Landscape follows the North Downs from the Surrey border to the sea cliffs at Dover. The chalk downs escarpment gives way to the flat and fertile lands of the Weald, famous for fruit growing and sometimes referred to as the ‘Garden of England’. The fast-disappearing traditional Kentish orchards and hop gardens together with the picturesque half-timbered villages and towns give a unique charm to this area. The North Downs Way and the Pilgrims Way offer routes to explore the landscape and Palace Farm Hostel offers hostel-style accommodation providing good value access to this National Landscape. Palace Farm Hostel is a relaxing, flexible 4* hostel on a family-run farm. Situated in the village of Doddington at the heart of the National Landscape.

Our ground floor is wheelchair friendly with wide doorways and access to all communal facilities including the lounge, dining room and kitchen. In addition, Roddam, a bright, comfortable and spacious dormitory, is also located on the ground floor for easy access; it comes complete with ensuite wet room custom built with grab rails, shower seat and level access and is ideal for any guests with mobility concerns. Brownsman is an adjacent dormitory which could be used by a carer, if required.
Solway Coast National Landscape
Stretching along the Cumbrian shore of the Solway Firth, this is a low, open, AONB with wide views across to the hills of Dumfries and Galloway. A dynamic seascape with a huge intertidal range, it is an overwintering ground for a vast number of birds and is visited by seals, dolphins, and porpoises. The falling tides expose wide stretches of sand and salt marsh giving a sense of remoteness. The area has a rich historical heritage associated with its position on the Scottish border, the frontier of the Roman Empire, and a World Heritage Site. This is enjoyed by walkers and cyclists on the Hadrian’s Cycleway, the England Coast Path and Hadrian’s Wall Path National Trail. Hillside Farm Bunkbarn provides low-cost access to the National Landscape and overnight stays for people on the Trails. A Georgian working farm, with stunning views over the Solway Firth marshes and the Soleway Coast. B&B rooms are available in the farmhouse and the bunkbarn has cooking facilities, hot showers and is heated with a bio mass boiler
Surrey Hills National Landscape
The Surrey Hills National Landscape is famous for beauty spots such as Box Hill, Devils Punch Bowl and Newlands Corner. There are many well-used footpaths, bridleways and the long-distance trail North Downs Way National Trail. Impossible perfect villages such as Shere and Abinger are great for exploring local food and art and crafts architecture. Puttenham Barn Bunkhouse, on the North Downs Way, offers simple accommodation for walkers & cyclists in the Surrey Hills. It is a converted historic barn with a volunteer warden to welcome you.
Cornwall National Landscape
Cornwall National Landscape is unique, it is the only AONB that has 12 separate sections. It includes most of Cornwalls world-renowned coastline, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a host of natural and heritage features. The north sections range from dramatic headlands, to extensive rolling dunes. The south coast is softer with sheltered coves and picturesque fishing villages. Between the two lies the granite intrusions around Land’s End, rocks rich in minerals that have been mined for centuries and the old engine house chimneys still stand sentinel against the sky, emphaisising the wild isolated character of the coastline. Land’s End Hostel is situated in the small hamlet of Trevescan, just 1/2 mile from the coast. Converted from a Mill Barn it provides warm and well equipped private hostel rooms with a shared fully equipped kitchen and a summerhouse to lounge in.
Forest of Bowland National Landscape
The Forest of Bowland offers some of the most beautiful and remote walking and cycling in the country, from the grandeur and isolation of the moorland hills to the undulating lowlands with their distinctive pattern of settlements, woodland cloughs and river valleys. Downham Camping Barn offers basic accommodation with unrivalled view across to Pendle Hill in the heart of the Trough of Bowland AONB. Run by the local Downham Estate, it offers great value accommodation for many types of events and celebrations, as well as being very popular with walker and cyclists.

The Isle of Wight is a rural island with a long history as a seaside family holiday resort.
