The Sheringham Shantymen – Sunday Session
October 6th 2019
The live music programme at Deepdale Backpackers & Camping continues with a courtyard Sunday Session from the The Sheringham Shantymen.
The perfect soundtrack to a weekend exploring the North Norfolk Coast.
In 1988 a group of local lifeboat men and friends formed a shanty singing group to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the private sailing and pulling Sheringham lifeboat the ‘Augusta’. They enjoyed the experience so much that they decided to continue. During those first few years as they expanded they welcomed a variety of singers and musicians to join the group but always supporting the RNLI. They formalised the group in 1990 naming themselves the Sheringham Shantymen.
FREE if staying, otherwise tickets £5

Thinking about a Green holiday on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast ?
September 8th 2019
Deepdale have a Gold Green Tourism award and regularly organise Green events like local Beach cleans. So come along and enjoy the huge skies, coastline and countryside.
Our product is the environment – beautiful countryside, fresh sea air, big blue skies, salt marshes, woods and fields – nature at her best … So we try to it that way by operating as an environmentally aware business.
We actively encourage and reward non-car journeys, promoting the Coasthopper bus service, the Norfolk Coastal Footpath, and have re-invigorated the cycle hire business.
Environmentally friendly cleaning and washing products are provided for guests, free of charge, together with fairly traded tea, coffee and hot chocolate for our hostel guests, and we use recycled paper products in our office and washrooms.
Our electricity is sourced from a 100% renewable provider, and we have an ongoing commitment to generate as much electricity as possible from solar as we continue to develop the site.
We also host Environment Events at Deepdale and on the North Norfolk Coast such as local Beach Cleans. Here is as an events list.
The winter Sunday Sessions continue with live music at Deepdale, Bernard Hoskin, Marina Florance and Gentlemen of Few.
The Deepdale Hygge and Deepdale Spring Market are just a couple of months away.
The campsite grass replanting looks fantastic, we’ll be planting more trees in early February at the Conservation Weekend, the new cartshed heating system is up and running, and the crew are ready for 2019.
We really look forward to welcoming you to Deepdale sometime this year …
