The North Norfolk Coast belongs to the sky. It is filled with coastal wildlife, salt mashes and picaresque villages with ancient roots. There are stunning seascapes, seaside towns and not much evidence of the hurley burly of modern life. That is why Deepdale is such a useful find, unusual in rural North Norfolk, there is tourist information, shopping with great food available, camping and hostel accommodation all in the authentic relaxed village of Deepdale.Read More
Deepdale Hygge Festival. CANCELLED
March 13th 2020
It is with real sadness that we have decided to cancel the Deepdale Hygge & Deepdale Spring Market. We’ve given this decision a huge amount of thought, and feel it is the only sensible course of action with the impending coronavirus situation.
The event is all about being sociable, catching up with old and new friends, enjoying live music together and a beer around the fire pits, so regardless of the number of sanitation stations, it will be impossible to guarantee against virus transmission. As a socially responsible company we really don’t feel we can be the cause of further spreading.
Huge apologies again for cancelling this event. Let’s hope we are all dancing in the Brick Barn to great live music again very soon. For more information about the hyggefestival at Deepdale.

Always a sign that colder weather is coming, and just a small part of the amazing wildlife you can see here on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast in Winter.
It’s natural spectacle that no one should miss. This time of year is wonderful for seafood, with Brancaster mussels in season. The perfect excuse to visit one of the local pubs, and relax by the fire while enjoying produce that couldn’t be more local.
We’ve got fantastic live music Sunday Sessions lined up this Winter and Autum Beach Cleans that would be glad of your help. Plus lots of local events taking place, and of course the Deepdale Christmas Market.
The Sheringham Shantymen – Sunday Session
October 6th 2019
The live music programme at Deepdale Backpackers & Camping continues with a courtyard Sunday Session from the The Sheringham Shantymen.
The perfect soundtrack to a weekend exploring the North Norfolk Coast.
In 1988 a group of local lifeboat men and friends formed a shanty singing group to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the private sailing and pulling Sheringham lifeboat the ‘Augusta’. They enjoyed the experience so much that they decided to continue. During those first few years as they expanded they welcomed a variety of singers and musicians to join the group but always supporting the RNLI. They formalised the group in 1990 naming themselves the Sheringham Shantymen.
