Darsham Country Centre loves to host cycle groups. It provides cheap self catering accommodation of up to 30 people in 7 bedrooms. It is easily accessible from the North Sea Cycle Route with just a 3 mile diversion along the A1120 from Peasenhall (a tourist route) through to Yoxford and Darsham. The designated cycle route can then be picked up just north of the centre along Willow Marsh Lane. There is a Budgens supermarket within walking distance of the centre that also provides sandwiches and pastries and 2 pubs serving good food one mile away. Available for one night stays. An excellent pit stop!

Kirkby Stephen is a great place for an overnight stop on the MBCTC with an excellent range of restaurants, cafés, pubs, take-aways. The hostel is in the centre of town with food shops on the doorstep. It has secure bike storage, electric hook-ups, a drying room, and a well-equipped self-catering kitchen. The welcoming social area creates a great atmosphere for après-biking chats. With a choice of private rooms and dorms, it’s ideal for both groups and solo travelers. Plus, it’s right on the trail!

Accessible features incorporated into the refurbished Roaches Bunkhouse
The extensive 2024 refurbishments at The Roaches Bunkhouse have included some accessible features. The larger of the two lodges at the bunkhouse, Peak Lodge, has a downstairs bedroom (sleeping 5), there’s a ground floor accessible bathroom and an accessible entrance. Pleased note Peak Lodge sleeps 25 and is only available to groups.

7km from the Mountain Biking the Coast to Coast
If you have a support vehicle (or fancy a famous road climb) then Chapel Gallery Bunkhouse in Wensleydale is a great option to stay at when you are doing the Mountain Bike Coast to Coast. To get to Hawes you have to drive for 7km (or bike if you have the legs for it) over the infamous Buttertubs Pass. With 350m elevation and spectacular views down Swaledale, then over to Ingleborough, and down Wensleydale, it is a stunning route.

This trail is a 13 mile circuit of Oswestry, Shropshire. The trail includes many historical points of interest including the Old Race Course & the Iron Age Hill Fort. It’s a National Trail that runs alongside the English/Welsh border. The trail is divided into five sections, making it possible to walk it in stages.

Brompton on Swale Bunkbarn offers great value accommodation and a pot of tea for weary walkers when arriving on the Coast to Coast. 0.5 miles from the footpath or directly on the route if using the main road. Book a bunk or a private room. Self-catering kitchen and lounge. Sleeping bags and towels can be hired. There is a shop directly opposite and a pub 100m away that serves lovely pub grub and breakfast. Lots of reviews on Google.
