Accommodation & Watersport Activity Centre in Cowes
This new Base Camp initiative is aimed at families and small groups who are looking for a holiday by the sea with optional activities.
The accommodation is in private 4-person, 6-person, and 8-person bunk rooms with some twin and single rooms. Ideal for families of all sizes. The rooms are arranged in blocks so large and small groups have self-contained spaces. There are no self-catering facilities and guests can choose from B&B, half, or full board.
The Base Camp's 4-acre site is situated directly on the waterfront. Facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, canteen, full-sized sports hall, drying room, outdoor bike storage, bar, young person’s chill out zone and outside relaxing area. There is also a variety of classrooms and break-out areas if needed.
A wide range of watersports and land-based activities can be arranged if required. Activities such as sailing, paddleboarding, windsurfing, kayaking etc are hugely popular with the young and the young at heart.
As well as the sea, the island has plenty to entertain you. Why not visit some of the island's famous attractions like Dinosaur Isle or Osborne House?
There is limited car parking and transfers to and from the ferries can be arranged with notice. Making this an ideal location for a holiday without your car.

UKSA is easily assessible from Southampton by car via Red Funnels car ferry. Arriving in East Cowes, The Base Camp is a short ferry hop across the river to West Cowes. The heart of Cowes is a couple of minutes away in a car. The Base Camp has limited parking, please phone to explore car parking options.Public Transport :
UKSA is easily accessible from Southampton on foot, via Red Funnel’s "Red Jet passenger service". Arriving in West Cowes, it's a 5-minute walk to the Base Camp or a short taxi ride. Many groups enjoy getting a private boat directly to UKSA's pontoons.

Cowes Base Camp is located at UKSA, a charitable organisation and leading watersports centre for school residentials. AALA Licenced with accreditation for activities, it provides full risk assessments and has been awarded the LOtC Quality badge. It prides itself on giving students the opportunity to learn and achieve qualifications while taking part in activities. The Base Camp is directly on the waterfront and has accommodation for 300, flexible catering options, a canteen, an indoor heated swimming pool and sports hall.
