The restoration carried out enables you to see traditional and sustainable construction methods.If you arrive at Puttenham Barn Bunkhouse on foot, by bike or on public transport you can claim a fab ‘green discount’ of £3 per person per night.

We are a charitable organisation that was set up to provide self catered accommodation in an environment that those less fortunate may not be ordinarily be able to access. With 25 beds, bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a remote location, it is the perfect place to experience the Peak District in all its glory. Over the years Crookstone Barn has welcomed school groups from as far as Chernobyl, homeless projects from Rotherham & Sheffield and many youth groups including scouts, cadets and youth sports teams.

The Woodlands Centre is run by a small charity whose sole purpose is to provide low cost, accessible accommodation for young people. Set in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park in Betws-Y-Coed, an extensive variety of activities are available nearby. The cost to youth groups is kept as low as possible, with discounts up to 55%. Groups can have exclusive use of the whole centre, which includes 8 bedrooms sleeping 33 people.

Owned by the Scouts, this former station masters house sits on the Wensleydale heritage railway line near to Leyburn in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Shining Cliff hostel provides a 5% discount for guests arriving solely by foot, bike or public transport. The 10 minute walk through the woods from the nearest car park does not cut the mustard. To earn this discount you need to show true adventure. Luckily Ambergate rail station is only a mile away and the rolling countryside of the Derbyshire Dales makes for excellent walking.

We are delighted to announce that we have partnered with Generation Green, a government initiative to give disdvantaged youngsters the opportunity to experience the countryside. If you know some young people (between 7 and 18) who’d enjoy campfire cooking and an overnight stay in the Surrey Hills, do get in touch.
