The island of Ulva has a tiny population, plenty of space and stunning sea views. It lies just off the west coast of Mull, reached by foot passenger ferry, so is really easy to reach. Ulva Hostel, originally a shooting lodge, has private rooms, or you can book a bed in a shared room. There are also 2 family sized yurts and a camping area in the grounds.
There’s still time to book Mount Cook Adventure Centre for your large group this August Bank Holiday. With accommodation for up to 180 people, Mount Cook is perfect for large family groups, stag and hen parties, faith groups, sports clubs, charities, or corporate retreats. There are 5 bedrooms available for hire, for just £20 per person per night; with 3 shared bathrooms, an open plan lounge and dining area and well equipped self catering kitchen.
All the ground floor doors are 32 inches wide, we have a ramp to front door. Disabled shower and toilet with rail, one level for entry to bunkhouse and inclusive sink and cooking area.
Everything about the new Archway Dorm room at the Wild Wool Barn has sustainability at it’s heart. Solar panels, air source heat pump are a given, but also all the fixtures and fittings have been, donated reused or recycled. This of course includes the amazing view over Ennerdale water, which is one renewable resource we really don’t mind reusing
This is great news indeed for the hostelling community. Now called Almond Lodge Brecon Beacons, the hostel is currently closed, but will be reopening it’s doors to welcome guests again in September. It has been bought by the owners of Almond Lodge Helvellyn, and will be run on similar grounds offering accommodation for groups. Keep checking our website for updates.
The Old Cafe Bunkroom is a bijou micro hostel in the grounds of the beautiful Rydal Lodge Hotel. Perfect for one or two guests and tastefully decorated, there is one set of bunks, a small kitchen unit with microwave, toaster, fridge & kettle, a dining table for 2 and a small en suite shower room. You can bring up to 2 dogs too. Whats more all the facilities of the hotel are open to you too.
We are looking for mid-week wardens, preferably a Sunday-Thursday during August.

Slack House Farm is an organic dairy farm overlooking Birdoswald Roman Fort on Hadrian’s Wall. It is on the NCN 72 cycle trail and close to Hadrian’s Wall National Trail. The bunk-barn has 3 en suite bedrooms of 3,5 and 8 beds. A wood pellet-fired stove gives a warm heart to the kitchen/lounge and provides under-floor heating throughout the barn. Book a bed, a private room or sole use of the whole bunkhouse.

This large Victorian property has been specially adapted to provide self-catering accommodation for groups of up to 33. The 8 dormitories vary in size from 1 to 10 beds, complete with duvets & linen. The Centre is centrally heated & has a common room, large kitchen, drying room, hot showers and outdoor seating. Located in Betws-y-Coed, the Woodlands Centre is an ideal base for outdoor activities in Snowdonia.
