Ceredigion Heritage Coast. No passport required.
The Cardigan Bay coastline is one of the most ecologically important stretches of the British coast — home to the largest population of bottlenose dolphins in Europe, to grey seals who pup on beaches in autumn, to choughs, red kites, and one of the most dramatic sections of the Wales Coast Path.
Ty Cwch sits at the centre of it. A Green Tourism Gold-awarded boathouse designed by a local sustainable architect, it sleeps 12 in a quiet cove between New Quay and Llangrannog. The beach is a minute’s walk. Kayaks, body boards, and life jackets are available. Guided wildlife and activity experiences — foraging, coasteering, dolphin watching, surfing — can be arranged locally.
With international travel carrying more uncertainty and cost than it has for years, the case for a week on the Ceredigion coast looks stronger than ever. Recognised by Visit Wales with their Innovation in Tourism Award. Featured in The Guardian, The Telegraph, Rough Guide to Wales, and Coast. From £25 per person per night.

Dog-Friendly Stays
May 7th 2026
Dogs, beaches, coast path — the full Welsh experience
Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at Ty Cwch for exclusive group bookings — and the setting could hardly be better suited. A quiet cove with a clean beach, a river running into the sea, cliff paths in both directions, and almost no crowds.
Ty Cwch is a Green Tourism Gold-awarded boathouse sleeping up to 12 in Cwmtydu, Ceredigion. Built from shipping containers by a local sustainability architect, it’s one of the most distinctive group stays on the Welsh coast — and one of the best value. At full occupancy, it comes to £25 per person per night, with 25% off for week-long stays.
For families and groups travelling with dogs, the value case against flying somewhere is clear. No pet surcharges from airlines. No kennels. No unfamiliar rules. A beach at the end of the garden and a firepit for the evenings.
Featured in The Guardian, The Telegraph, on Channel 4 and S4C.
