A proper stop on the Wales Coast Path
July 2nd 2026
The Wales Coast Path runs 870 miles around the entire Welsh coastline. The Ceredigion section — between Cardigan and Aberystwyth — is one of its finest stretches: high cliff paths, hidden coves, abundant wildlife, and very few other people.
Ty Cwch sits right on the path at Cwmtydu, midway between Llangrannog and New Quay. It sleeps up to 12, so it works equally well for a solo night’s rest or a group gathering at the halfway point of a longer walk.
Iolo Williams — one of Wales’ best-known naturalists — named this section of the path among his favourites. It’s easy to see why. https://youtu.be/VIgvUbF1Eso

Family Holidays: The kind of week they’ll still talk about at university
June 25th 2026
Rock pooling, bodyboarding, seal-spotting, coasteering, foraging, firepit — Cwmtydu is the kind of place that gives children the outdoors properly, without a screen in sight.
Ty Cwch is our boathouse on the Ceredigion coast — architect-designed, Green Tourism Gold accredited, sleeping up to 12. The beach is a two-minute walk. The coast path is at the door. Rhydian at ICY UK runs guided coasteering and adventure activities for families. And the pizza at Tafell a Tan in Llangrannog is worth every step of the walk there.
The seals and the dolhins have been known to swim alongside our kayaks in the bay. That tends to settle the question of whether it was a good holiday.
