Private campsite for DofE groups in the Peak District
Located on the edge of Edale, with footpaths leading towards Kinder form the doorstep, Ollerbrook Farm if the perfect site for DofE groups. There’s a private camping area, for use by DofE groups only, with designated toilets. Leaders can stay in one of newly converted comfortable bunkhouses.

With a log-burning stove to keep you cosy, Hudscales Camping Barn is the perfect getaway to celebrate New Year’s Eve with up to 12 family and friends. All Stretton Bunkhouse is open all year – including Christmas Day – for individuals, groups or sole use. We never close at All Stretton and neither do the hills. We cannot guarantee snow but there will be lots going on in Shropshire
over Christmas and the New Year. You can join in the fun or enjoy the peace of the Batch Valley. Unlike many, we don’t increase our prices over the festive holidays. AND just in case you were off to foreign parts to see the Northern Lights – sometime we have our own show!

The weather is lovely here at the moment… And for future dates, you can book sole use of the whole place at anytime (except August) or book by the room for dates up to a month in advance.
Lockerbrook Celebrates 60 years of Outdoor adventure
Friends of Lockerbrook Farm gathered on Saturday to celebrate the centre’s 60th birthday. The derelict farm was taken on in 1964 by youth charity, the Woodcraft Folk to provide outdoor experiences for young people from the big cities.
Refurishments at Base Lodge, everyones favorite first night on the SWCP
A classic hostel with a freindly host, Base Lodge is a firm favorite with walkers starting or finishing the South West Coast Path. CLOSED FROM JANUARY 2025 for 6 months of refurbishment, Base lodge will re-open in summer 2025 as a smaller more intimate place to stay. We will add updates here as the refurbishments take place, so check back for more details.
Celebrate New Year with your mates in the stunning scenery of Weardale Valley
Book the warm and welcoming Barrington Bunkhouse in Rookhope, to celebrate New Year with your friends. There are beds for 13 and a central social area where you can toast in the New Year beneath the old parish rooms’ ancient rafters. Prepare simple meals in the kitchenette with microwave, simple electric hob, toaster, kettle, and a fridge.

Blakedean is available for the Autumn half-term. Sleeping groups of up to 24, the hostel provides simple accommodation in the Pennine Hills on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border. The Pennine Way passes close by leading to some superb walking over the moors. The area is also great for mountain biking, geo-caching, river walks, bird watching and exploring the great outdoors.
