Christmas with a difference
Looking to do something totally different this year? At Carrshield Camping Barn we are nestled in the West Allen Valley within the North Pennines AONB. Not only is it the last wilderness in England, but also the snowiest. Although we cannot promise a White Christmas, these is more chance with us than elsewhere. The accommodation is back-to-basic so bring warm clothes and bedding. Each room has a log stove to stoke up as the temperature drops and the thick walls of the original old Mine Shop keep the cold winds out. But the days are full of opportunities to walk, cycle or run, and enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the area. We have walks from our door over the fells and moors, or more leisurely along the valleys, with Isaac’s Tea Trail nearby. The quiet lanes of the Allen Valleys lend themselves to scenic cycling, with the possibility of doing some off-road along tracks and bridleways. Remember to tell Santa where you will be!
