Independent hostels, like youth hostels, have dorms and private rooms, flexible lengths of stay and self catering kitchens designed for groups. Only 5% of the 350 hostels featured in England, Wales and Scotland are affiliated to the Youth Hostel Association ( YHA ) or Scottish Youth Hostel Association ( SYHA ) and less then 20% are members of Scottish Independent Hostels. The hostels and bunkhouses in the UK are ideal for walkers, cyclists and family holidays. They also provide self catering group accommodation ideal for schools, outdoor groups and reunions of families and friends. Many provide a Best Price Guarantee, ensuring the prices they offer you through this website are the best value you can find. Use the Find By: options at the top of this website to find your perfect hostel, bunkhouse, camping barn or group accommodation using maps. Catering at Alnwick Hostel
We arrived at the youth hostel to the smell of curry drifting into the dining room. A Russian group were staying at the hostel and Andrew and staff were catering for them. We got busy in the self catering kitchen but still couldn’t get the thought of curry out of our minds. A night latter, admitting defeat, we were eating hostel meals with the Russian group.
