Spring Activities at North Yorkshire Moors National Park

Events to suit every member of the family are taking place in the North York Moors National Park. Coinciding with Discover National Parks Fortnight, the activities aim to encourage more people to experience these very special places and learn more about the landscapes, habitats and heritage that can often be found on their doorstep.

Cote Ghyll Mill is a VisitEngland 4-star rated group accommodation in a converted linen mill, nestled in the idyllic countryside of the North York Moors National Park. So if you are considering a Spring Break, or some Easter activities, now is the perfect time to visit Cote Ghyll Mill.

Constellation Rubbing Trail – Danby Lodge National Park Centre and Sutton Bank National Park Centre
Explore the grounds and find the constellation rubbing plaques, use your brass rubbing crayon and discover the 10 different constellations. Drop-in, no booking required, please check visitor centre opening hours. £3 per person.

Notice Nature Trail – 23 March to 25 May – Danby Lodge National Park Centre and Sutton Bank National Park Centre
Take time to look at what’s around us. What mysteries of nature will you unravel on this new family trail? Recommended age 3+. £3 per person.

Natural Art Day Family Activity – Wednesday 27 March at Danby Lodge National Park Centre
Using only what we can find we’ll create our own natural art. Make a bookmark or wall hanging to take home. No booking required, drop in Price from £5.00

Family Bushcraft Day – Wednesday 3 April at Danby Lodge National Park Centre
Escape to the woodland and learn how to make the best shelters and how to light a fire. You can also make a charcoal pencil to take home. Price from £7.00

Children’s Terrarium-Making Workshop – Sunday 7 April at Danby Lodge National Park Centre
Build a terrarium with HOF & Beyond. Children will learn which plants to use and how to care for them. They’ll get messy with the different soils creating their own funky layers. Price from £26.00
