There are lots of lovely places to visit: Alston, Blanchland, High Force (beautiful Waterfall), Barnard Castle where the Bowes Museum is, Nenthead Mining museum, Beamish Museum … that’s a whole day out, so much to see. Northumberland and the coast and castles are not far away as well.
