Cleikum Mill is a historic character building with plenty of space to chill & spread out, we have had professional bike teams, product launches, family reunions , walking groups and even a hot air balloon group visit us over the last 6 years we have been open and everything in between.

Nothing beats a walk on a golden Autumn day surrounded by trees in their full Autumnal colours! Alston Hostel is on the Firs Walk and Pennine Way so there are lovely walks from the door step for all the family either by the river South Tyne or along the South Tyne Trail. The South Tynedale Railway will also be running at weekends in October so you can walk one way and catch the train back! You may even see salmon leaping in the river! We have 2, 4 or 6 bedded private family rooms available throughout October and during half term.

At Ilderton Dod Barns, it’s still possible to accommodate up to 14 people between our 2 neighbouring barn conversions if a large group is your main objective. However, we’ve recently split the large upstairs room in The Barn to provide a king-sized room with sofa bed as the main accommodation, but with a bunk and 2 singles behind a cleverly hidden adjoining room, plus space for up to two Z-beds or a cot.
