Accessibility features at Balmaha Bunkhouse
The common room kitchen is located on the ground floor, and a ramp provides access to the bunkhouse. The accessible bedroom and shower room are also situated on the ground floor and can be reached without the use of stairs. However, it should be noted that not all areas of the ground floor are fully wheelchair accessible.

A great little independent hostel in the Angus Glens
Glenprosen is the most intimate of the Angus Glens on the southernmost edge of the Cairngorms National Park. Two Munros; the Mayar and Driesh link Glenprosen to the Cairngorms plateau. Perfect for west coast wanderers
Hiking, climbing, cycling or just wandering where your feet take you, the Glenfinnan Sleeping Car is a great base for local Corbetts and Munros, and local walks on surrounding estate land.
Many of our guests are on longer walks – we are a popular first night stop on the Cape Wrath Trail, for hikers to have possibly the last hot shower, comfy bed or hearty meal for several days, if not a week!
We’re also well-connected by bus and train for days out, including taking the Mallaig-Skye ferry.
Can a railway carridge be an independent hostel?
Yes, it can! It may be pretty quirky, but it’s homely, clean, has a fantastic location, and is just a roll out of bed away from another vintage Mk1 Carriage – the Glenfinnan Station Dining Car. A separate business, the Dining Car provides excellent breakfasts and lunches for our Sleeping Car guests, and we fully appreciate it being there. It also provides pre-prepared dishes which can be heated up in the Sleeping Car oven. It feels good to support fellow community members’ small businesses!

Hamilton Lodge and James John Hamilton House sit side by side in the coastal town of Fishguard close to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. They provide B&B rooms, a holiday cottage and quality self-catering accommodation for groups of up to 20 people.
