At Borth Youth Hostel, everything is geared towards taking the non-teaching load off teachers, so they can focus on delivering a relaxed educational experience. We provide risk assessments, paperwork and flexible, school-led planning — we ask what you need and work with you to make it happen. We’ve been supporting school groups for over 10 years, with many groups returning year after year.
This historic hostel offers child-friendly menus, a spacious games room, and a wide range of activities to engage school groups. Longlands Hall, built in 1882, features spacious grounds and impressive interiors that will inspire young minds. Within a mile of the hostel, you’ll find the Brontë Parsonage Museum, the Keighley and Worth Valley Steam Railway, and the moors, waterfalls, and farm that inspired Wuthering Heights.

School residentials at a historic, private boarding school near Blandford Forum. The school is fully experienced in risk assessments and safeguarding procedures, and the on-site catering team is adept at accommodating pupils with complex dietary requirements. Groups of 40–200 are welcome. There are five self-contained boarding houses, each sleeping up to 50 students in a mix of single, twin, triple, and quad rooms. You can book one or more houses, or reserve exclusive use of the entire campus. The school’s leisure facilities are also available for hire, including a swimming pool, sports hall, tennis courts, theatre, and multiple classrooms.

Blue Peris provides catering, qualified instructors, and specialist activity equipment. As part of their course offering, they supply all the paperwork required by teachers and course leaders, making it easy to plan. They also provide trip guidance notes and risk assessments for teachers, compatible with Evolve.

Darsham Country Centre provides comfortable overnight accommodation that is ideal for school residentials and youth groups. Conveniently located just 10 minutes from the Geography Fieldwork Academy in Southwold, it offers the perfect base for a school residential.
On arrival, the Centre Manager will welcome your group and ensure you feel at home. You’ll be shown important facilities such as fire exits, heating settings, recycling arrangements, and the use of the kitchen appliances. Fresh, clean bedding is provided so that the students can make up their own beds on arrival – a great way to encourage independence.
There is a local supermarket for any last-minute provisions and restaurants and takeaways for a teachers’ treat.
For times not at the Academy there’s lots to explore in the local area: traditional seaside towns, historic sites, scenic walking routes, and a train connection right to the door from London.
