Everything about the new Archway Dorm room at the Wild Wool Barn has sustainability at it’s heart. Solar panels, air source heat pump are a given, but also all the fixtures and fittings have been, donated reused or recycled. This of course includes the amazing view over Ennerdale water, which is one renewable resource we really don’t mind reusing
This is great news indeed for the hostelling community. Now called Almond Lodge Brecon Beacons, the hostel is currently closed, but will be reopening it’s doors to welcome guests again in September. It has been bought by the owners of Almond Lodge Helvellyn, and will be run on similar grounds offering accommodation for groups. Keep checking our website for updates.
The Old Cafe Bunkroom is a bijou micro hostel in the grounds of the beautiful Rydal Lodge Hotel. Perfect for one or two guests and tastefully decorated, there is one set of bunks, a small kitchen unit with microwave, toaster, fridge & kettle, a dining table for 2 and a small en suite shower room. You can bring up to 2 dogs too. Whats more all the facilities of the hotel are open to you too.

Slack House Farm is an organic dairy farm overlooking Birdoswald Roman Fort on Hadrian’s Wall. It is on the NCN 72 cycle trail and close to Hadrian’s Wall National Trail. The bunk-barn has 3 en suite bedrooms of 3,5 and 8 beds. A wood pellet-fired stove gives a warm heart to the kitchen/lounge and provides under-floor heating throughout the barn. Book a bed, a private room or sole use of the whole bunkhouse.
Formerly YHA Llanddeusant, Almond Lodge Brecon Beacons is right on the Cambrian Way. It makes the perfect stop-over for weary walkers. While the main body of the hostel is for groups of up to 26, in 2025 there will be an annex which will offer double or twin for individuals or duos
