A superb hostel for walkers, ideal for night 3 on Coast to Coast (involves a short bus ride).

Footpaths and a regular bus, link the Coast to Coast route to Elterwater Hostel. Leave the route at Grasmere and pick up a bus, or walk for another hour. The bus journey takes half and hour and involves two buses. Elterwater Hostel is an established walkers’ stopover on the Cumbria Way so you will be in good company.  There are pubs, shops and other amenities available nearby.  The hostel can provide breakfast and evening meal (with notice), it has a laundry and drying room and the beds are fully made up, ready to jump into.
