On the edge of Hathersage Thorpe is close by to some of the big attractions of the peaks. The lows of the Castleton caves are not far away and make for a brilliant day out. Alternatively the highest peak of the district can be sought out. Kinder scout is a challenging hike but the rewards are well worth the effort. On a clear day views reach out to Manchester and beyond occasionally the view even extends to Snowdon! The bunks themselves have plenty of space and spots for camping too. Hot showers and heating throughout make it easy to sleep like a log after a day out in the clouds.
