This is the first in a series of short pieces that highlight some of the many things that can be done whilst staying in this lovely remote location. We may be a long way from major towns and cities, that’s part of the attraction, but there is something to do every day of the week.
Just 2 minutes off Traws Eryri (Trans Snowdonia), Treks Bunkhouse makes a great 2nd night option.
As the Traws Eryri route heads east away from Ffestiniog, you’ll are close to Treks bunkhouse. With stunning views over the mountains, this is the real Wales. The bunkhouses is available to groups at weekends and individuals midweek. It provides all the bedding you will need and towels on request. There’s a drying room to ensure you have warm dry kit for the next day. Self-cater or enjoy a tasty evening meal at the local community pub in Lan Ffestiniog. There is often a 2 night min stay at weekends, but as there is so much to do in the area, it may be just the excuse you need, to take a day off the route and explore.
