We came to Tremadog for the climbing. This pretty welsh village is renowned for the vast numbers of climbing routes along the escarpment above the village. All with easy access and often more sheltered in harsh weather then the rest of Snowdonia.

Head for the Langdale Valley
For me, Elterwater is one of the Lake District’s true gems: a cluster of houses and a pub lying in the Langdale Valley, just half a mile from the picturesque lake from which its name is derived. Elterwater Hostel is Ideally placed for exploring some of the Central Lakes’ most appealing fells. From here, you can head off on some of my favourite fell walks, including climbing up to Stickle Tarn and on to Raise and, of course, the wonderful Langdale Pikes above the Langdale Valley are within easy reach.
Electric Bike Network in the Lakes District
There are Electric Bike Networks in nine beautiful areas across the UK, mostly national parks. We came across the Lake District Network on a holiday in Grasmere, Cumbria.

A week of Orcadian hospitality
Earlier in the year, at the start of June, I spent a highly enjoyable week in the Orkney Isles based at Browns Hostel’s and houses in Stromness, Orkney. I was there as part of a group booking with four other island enthusiasts. We were given exclusive use of the ground floor of the hostel and with a good kitchen/communal area, two toilets, an excellent shower and twin rooms it perfectly suited our requirements.
Yorkshire Peaks Holiday
A holiday in the Yorkshire Peaks, at first glance, might sound an incredible opportunity for some of the best walking and outdoor adventures the country has to offer, (which it is). Or it may sound as though it requires a tad too much physical exertion. If you are thinking the latter, like me, do not fret. As you will soon find out, the area is also full of delicious rewards for your endeavors.
