Opened in 1973 as an experimental hybrid of YHA & non-member accommodation.

This popular outdoor centre, set in former 19th century farm buildings, was never owned by the YHA. It was owned by the Peak District National park and run in partnership with the YHA. This cooperation with the YHA ended in 1988. In recent years the centre has been run by Nottinghamshire County Council for the benefit of its own schools, other organisations and private groups.
