Available year-round, the centre offers both catered and self-catered accommodation options. Guests can choose from bed and breakfast, full-board packages, or exclusive hire of the entire property on either a catered or self-catered basis. Ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible, and most dietary requirements can be catered for. Self-catering is only offered to groups that hire out the whole centre or if one of the smaller self-catering cottages is hired.
A popular choice for groups seeking adventure, team building, relaxation, and a connection with nature. Our qualified tutors and trusted activity partners can provide engaging educational experiences for both adults and children (subject to availability), these are chargeable and must be booked in advance. Please enquire for further details. It is ideally suited to educational groups, sports training weekends, corporate away days, youth, faith and family groups with the option of centre-led activities available. Once you arrive, it feels like a true escape into nature.
The centre accommodates up to 173 guests in 48 bedrooms across four buildings. The main house sleeps 116 in 31 bedrooms, St Johns annexe sleeps 10 in 3 bedrooms, Lonscale sleeps 25 in 9 bedrooms and Yonder End sleeps 22 in 5 bedrooms. All feature a range of room sizes including single, twin and dormitory style accommodation, some with en-suite facilities. There is also an additional 5 smaller self-catering cottages sleeping from 2-5 guests, please enquire for more information. In the main house, there are two ground floor accessible bedrooms offering en-suite wet-rooms and toilet facilities.
Facilities include a dining room, commercial kitchen, drying room, TV lounge room with games facilities, including table football and table tennis, six meeting/workrooms, cosy lounge, licenced bar, lockage bike storage and ample parking. Outside, there are various places to relax within beautifully manicured grounds, a patio area with seating, a basketball court and picnic areas and various lawned areas with easy access to multiple footpaths for Blencathra. Other guests staying in our self-catering properties will have shared use of these outdoor areas. To help everyone enjoy this spectacular location, a range of outdoor clothing is available to hire.

From Junction 40 on the M6 (D) follow A66 to Keswick . After about 12 miles turn off right following signpost for Threlkeld. Go through the village and turn right onto Blease Road. The centre is located 1 mile up the hill. Alternatively Head toward Keswick along the A591. As you drive down into the town turn right and follow signposts for A66 to Penrith and M6. Follow the A66 for about 2 miles. Turn off left and follow signpost for Threlkeld. Go through the village and turn left onto Blease Road. The centre is located 1 mile up the hill.Public Transport :
The nearest train station is the Penrith train station, approximately 18 miles from Threlkeld. Stagecoach operates the X4 and X5 Bus from Penrith train station to Workington which runs every hour and stops in Threlkeld or Keswick.
