This is a top class modern barn conversion, respecting the vintage features of the building. There are 20 beds in 5 rooms downstairs while the upstairs is open plan, airy and calm. Exceptional Wifi. High standard of facilities in the back of beyond.
An actual barn on a Yorkshire Dales hill farm. The exterior reflects what you’d expect from a Dales farm: rugged, exceptional views, secluded. But step inside and you’ll be blown away!
A world away from the adventurous simplicity of our traditional bunkbarns, this is designed and decorated with modern features (check out the glass banisters) respecting the vintage features of the building. There are 20 beds in 5 different rooms downstairs while the upstairs is open plan, airy and calm. No wonder they report that, “All our guests are very impressed to find a bunk barn with such a high standard of facilities in the back of beyond.”
That ‘Back of Beyond’ bit is also a big attraction. Just writing the names of these places – familiar to me from a youth spent relatively locally – makes me want to muddy my walking boots. The Yorkshire Three peaks: you can walk it from the door as the most challenging of the peaks, Ingleborough, is right there. Malham Cove. Ribblehead. Park Fell.
Broadrake Bunkbarn play an active role in the cultural life of the area, reminding us that secluded doesn’t mean isolated. They host a number of traditional skills and crafts workshops as well as being part of the Flowers of the Dales festival and Underground Overground festival.
This doesn’t mean they’re only open to big groups booking an event, no not at all. individuals, families and small group bookings are welcome too.
