Llansteffan is a beautiful, quaint village set at the tip of the Towi River and Carmarthen Bay. The sandy beaches nestling below the castle offer sun bathing and relaxation. The virtually traffic free country lanes make this area ideal for cycling. For the walker, the hostel is on the Wales Coastal Path. Carmarthen, Wales' oldest city and ancestral home to Merlin of King Arthur's legends, offers most social and cultural activities. The Pantyrathro International Hostel provides dorm accommodation, private rooms, family rooms, and en suite rooms. Facilities include self-catering kitchen, dining area, TV lounge, showers, free WiFi, and free parking. Pantyrathro is six miles from Carmarthen on the B4312, midway between Llangain and Llansteffan. Two miles from Llangain you will see the hostel signposted, turn right and follow hostel signs to top of lane.Public Transport:
Carmarthen has both coach and train stations serving South Wales, SW England and London. Local bus runs six times a day to Llansteffan. Ask driver to let you off at Pantyrathro.Walks:

Cycle Wales, with a quick stop in Mexico

Pantyrathro International Hostel is a quirky hostel. Situated in the virtually traffic free lanes of South Wales it has been decorated with Mexico in mind. Perfect for Cyclists, and those with a taste for adventure… and nachos.
We cater for cyclists and have a shed for bikes. We are 4 miles off of the south Britain cycle route 4 which meanders along quiet country lanes. You can grab a hot meal and a cold beer in our bars when you arrive. If you are carrying food, you may use the self catering kitchen which has everything you would need.
