Book direct to benefit yourself and the local community!
August 7th 2019
Ocean Backpackers has some great advice for guests!
By booking directly, 100% of your money goes towards your service, hosts, and rooms during your stay, while external booking sites can take up to 20% in commission, growing their monopolies at the expense of small independent businesses.
Ocean Backpackers explain why it is always best to book direct in their most recent blog. The blog is a great read and explains all the reasons why you should avoid booking.com, hostelworld and the other large booking sites, when arranging your accommodation. Furthermore it enlightens you of the privileges you can expect when booking direct!
This fantastic seaside town hostel is easy to spot in it’s Independent Hostel signage. On the blog Ocean Backpackers makes the very useful point that if you need to compare accommodation and still want to book direct you can do this on the Independent Hostels website where “booking buttons link direct to the hostels’ own booking systems”
