OverviewFSC Margam Discovery Centre is a Field Studies Council centre set within Margam Park, an 850 acre country estate between Cardiff and Swansea in South Wales. This spacious, modern centre sleeps up to 142 across 33 flexible en suite rooms. By virtue of cleverly designed folding beds these rooms can be used as single, twin, three or four bed rooms. Five of these rooms are fully accessible and have specially adapted facilities for wheelchair users. The centre is ideally suited to schools, clubs, conferences, wedding receptions and families. The facilities include a large glass sided dining hall, plenty of communal areas and 5 high tech classrooms. Outside there is ample space for games with footballs, rugby balls, rounders and cricket sets available. A wide range of outdoor activities are available on and off the site. All stays are catered by the centre's kitchen. The centre also offers residential courses in art and natural history as well as walking holidays. Easily accessible the centre is situated just off the M4 and is ideally placed for exploring the Gower ANOB, the Heritage Coast and the Brecon Beacons.

Directions:Leave the M4 at Junction 38 and take the A48 signposted to Pyle. You PASS the main gates to Margam Country Park and continue for just over a mile until you reach a very short section of dual carriageway. Just after the start of the dual carriageway you will see a brown sign on your left for Margam Discovery Centre and Twyn yr Hydd House, turn left here down the slip road until you approach a large set of double gates. Accessing Centre Gates: You will arrive at 2 sets of gates. The Margam Discovery Centre gates are the gates to the right and signposted ‘Margam Discovery Centre’. You will need to press the CALL button in the silver box to the right of the gates to gain entry. Please speak clearly, specifying your name and organisation, our centre staff will activate the gates to allow you access.Once inside the Park, please follow signs to Margam Discovery Centre (left for cars, right for coaches). Once you have crossed the little stone bridge, take the next left and follow the road to the Discovery Centre. The centre car park is at the back of the building. Please park your vehicle and report to reception.
Public Transport:The nearest train station is Port Talbot Parkway (10 miles away). Then take First Cymru X1 bus. Minibus transfer may be possible. Please enquire. The nearest bus stop is at the main road entrance, 15 mins' walk to the reception.
