Live-in Position as a Hostel Warden
To take overall responsibility for the up-keep & running of a 14 room hostel; which will include, the daily cleaning, simple maintenance, checking guests in & out etc.
A vacancy has arisen in Cholderton Youth Hostel management department. Part of a working rare breeds farm on the edge of Cholderton village, near Salisbury in Wiltshire.

Job Description
To take overall responsibility for the up keep and running of 14 room hostel (70 beds) which will include, the daily cleaning and simple maintenance, the receipt and checking in of clients, to train and support junior members of staff. To liaise with the YHA and Eviivo in support of the booking systems and to work in close conjunction with the senior management team to improve standards.

About us
Cholderton (Stonehenge) Youth Hostel is one of the first enterprise hostels starting as a bunkhouse in 2003 with 22 beds. Now a newly built wing attached to the original farm cottages providing 70 youth hostel beds at a 4* grading. Situated on a farm park where we conserve the rare breed farm animals loved by all, close to Stonehenge and Salisbury, this hostel is loved by families and groups alike.
During term time we have school groups carrying on activities on site and during the holidays we have a number of European groups and families staying to explore the area.
We need our manager to manage the operation and to help us build it up. Breakfasts are provided for our guests as part of our charge and where possible we encourage them to stay for our chef prepared evening meals and to have a drink in our bar!
If you have relevant experience, can drive a car (as we are in a rural location) preferably with a flair for customer service and enjoy working in new situations – please give us a call to talk about this interesting position.
We have a double bedroom available with their own bathroom in the staff apartment with stunning views over the farm and vineyards.

Principal Job accountabilities
Take ownership and oversee all bookings, assist with month end accounts
Support other staff members and assist with team development & training.
Drive sales and assist with initiatives to maximise sales opportunities within the team
Candidate specification
Positive and enthusiastic
Deliver and maintain excellent standards of customer service.
Able to manage a team within a high pressure environment
Salary: Between £15,600 and £16,600 Per Annum
Salary determined based on experience Position: Permanent Closing Date: 30th September 2017
