Alex and his dog “Jaffa” are great fans of Independent Hostels. They often escape to a hostel or a bunkhouse for a weekends walking and find them a great source of dog friendly accommodation. Not that all hostels and bunkhouse will take dogs, but over 100 of them do. Read on to find out about Alex and Jaffas adventure and see a map showing dog friendly hostels and bunkhouses in the UK.

Last winter Jaffa and Alex visited New Ing Lodge and had a great time. They went to the local chip shop, which was dog friendly and provided free refills on chips ! Then had lovely evening back the hostel lounge with Jaffa cuddled up by the wood burning stove. The next morning they had a great early morning walk to the Abbey returning to a big breakfast at New Ing Lodge.
They have also visited DEEPDALE ROOMS & CAMPING which provides dog friendly accommodation. A nice place with early morning walks along the Marsh and a wholes day’s adventures available by taking a linear walk along the coast path and catching the Coast Hopper bus back to the hostel.
Another dog friendly bunk barn Alex and Jaffa recommend is in the peak district, next to the Tissington Trial which provides walks along an old railway. Alex says the Royal Oak does great breakfasts and other meals .
Alex and Jaffa are looking forward to their next dog friendly holiday. Alex has booked THE WHITE HORSE INN BUNKHOUSE for a big birthday week of walking with friends and family .
