The White Horse Inn has two bunkhouses which have been converted from the stables of this traditional Lake District inn at the foot of Blencathra. The White Horse is a country pub with great pub food, open fires, local ales and a warm welcome.Ten of the stables have been converted into bedrooms, sleeping between 8 and 4 people in each (1×8 person room, 3×6 person room, 6×4 person rooms) There is a basic kitchen in each with electric hob, microwave and a coin operated clothes dryer and a communal dining area seating 16-20 people. The two toilet blocks have male and female toilets, basins and showers. Guests are welcome to socialise in the pub which is open from 11am to 11pm and has free WiFi, hot drinks and good beer. Food is served 12-2pm and 6-9pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. The White Horse is just outside the picturesque village of Threlkeld close to Sharp Edge, with paths to the mountains immediately from the beer garden. From Penrith train station, 15 mins by taxi or catch the X5 or X4 bus from Penrith to Keswick and ask for Scales. Bus stops outside pub on the A66.
