Opened on October 6th 1980 the west highland way remains one of Scotland’s most popular long distance walks. A perfect opportunity to see some of Scotland’s wonder.
Drover trails, scrambles and lochsides. The range of this superb path is just fantastic. A perfect way to experience highlander hospitality. Out in the fresh air each day surrounded by nature helps calm the soul, and after each days trekking you can stay in some of the finest hostels that Scotland has to offer. By the way hostel is practically on the trail at around the midpoint. Offering warm beds and friendly service. A drying room is also present which after a day of traipsing in the rain is always a sight of sore eyes! So once again Happy 40th Birthday to The West Highland way, here’s to many more years of trekking.
