Winter in Dovedale

Ashbourne Gateway Centre welcomes winter walkers. Lofty limestone spires in Dovedale become more visible when the trees drop their leaves.

Ashbourne is sometimes called the Gateway to Dovedale. That’s where we get our name from! A “top 100” walk is to make the 7 mile round trip from Dovedale stepping stones to Milldale (where there is a refreshment kiosk and toilets). If you prefer indoors remember to book your tickets in advance if visiting the delightful Christmas displays at Chatsworth House.
