Accessed only on foot it’s a truely magical place to stay. No roads, no other buildings, no phone signal, just uninterrupted beautiful mountain views.
But there’s no need to compromise on comfort, with wood burning stoves, hot showers, a well-stocked bar, a small shop and full bedding provided. It’s an ideal place to stop between Rosthwaite (Borrowdale) and Caldbeck. Alternatively stop here after Keswick for a shorter day or to give you time for a detour to the summit of Skiddaw. This is a hostel not to be missed!
