Owned and managed by the Devon Spelæological Society, this converted village dairy in Buckfastleigh is a rugged, honest base for outdoor enthusiasts. Designed specifically for clubs and groups of up to 16, it provides a warm, practical retreat. Located perfectly for exploring Dartmoor’s rivers, tors, and trails, the bunkhouse focuses on the essentials: reliable comfort, a space to refuel and dry out between adventures.
We as a Caving Club are keen to encourage youth outdoor adventure as part of Scouting & Guiding and are pleased to offer a discounted “Sole Use” rate of £125 per a night when used for Scout & Guide youth sections.
We have been used as a base on the edge of Dartmoor by groups to support preparations for DofE and Ten Tors. An overnight base after a days walking.
Our sleeping arrangements are bunks sleeping 12 in the large room and a smaller room sleeping 4.
Ideal to separate adults and youth. We are a small bunkhouse and you will need to check we suit your groups mix, please email to find out more and check our website. (picture Scouts AI generated)
