School Adventures to Mid Wales.

Mid Wales Bunkhouse is perfect for school groups and especially D of E groups.

Many D of E groups, especially gold groups, have enjoyed the warmth, comfort and conviviality of the bunkhouse for the first night, before setting off on their expedition, and then on their return for a comfortable, sociable evening with the opportunity to unwind, and rest the weary legs. Being bookable on a daily basis means that the whole group can have sole occupancy, with the leaders staying throughout, booking just the number of beds they require.

The local area is also perfect and much less well known than the more popular places such as Snowdonia or the Brecon Beacons, being sufficiently wild and remote to test navigation skills whilst being sufficiently accessible to keep track of groups, and assist if necessary.

With considerable local knowledge I am always available to offer practical advice and suggest itineraries, either beforehand, or during a stay.

One group of Air Cadets return to us on an annual basis and the leaders tell us that their Mid Wales Bunkhouse expedition is the favourite of the year.

For school groups studying nature we have 14 acres of old pasture land available, along with a small copse and the River Marteg, all full of nature. The Gilfach Nature Reserve is also just a couple of miles away and is excellent for nature Study.
