POV: You book a foodie holiday in Earby

Earby is small but mighty when it comes to food. We have some cracking, local eateries just waiting to be explored.

You kick the day off at Humble Pie. Open Wednesday to Sunday 9-3, Humble Pie serves a comforting, home cooked breakfast, lunch, coffee and cakes. It’s an Earby Hostel favourite! Roast beef, onions, gravy and Yorkshire pudding wraps… It’s always a winner and only a 15 minute walk from the hostel.

For a mid-morning treat because… why not! Stop off at The Rectory Milk Shack for homemade, free range milkshakes. Expect exciting flavours such as Kinder Bueno, Black Cherry and Caramelised Banana as well as the classics; Chocolate, Strawberry, Banana.

Now for a spot of lunch! The Tempest arms is a 10 minute drive away. It is a newly refurbished 17th Century dog-friendly Inn and restaurant. It is a charming building and the menu has lots of kid friendly choices. They use lots of seasonal produce and their Sunday lunch is particularly good.

It’s 5pm somewhere! Our favourite pub is The Red Lion. It’s just a stones throw from Earby hostel that do an excellent selection of real ales. It’s a popular spot for beer lovers. It’s a “proper pub” with a cosy log burner, low beamed lounge and convivial tap room.

Peckish again? So soon! Let’s end the day on a high with an amazing curry from Musifir. Musafir is an Indian which is within walking distance of the hostel. It is perfect for date night or a special occasion. The food is really excellent, the staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Win win win! They also do deliveries!
