A perfect place to explore the magical Shropshire countryside.

Stoke’s Barn on top of Wenlock Edge is in the heart of it all.

Stokes Barn is located on top of Wenlock Edge, An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the heart of Shropshire countryside. One of the great iconic hills of Shropshire and immortalised as a symbol of steadfast reliability by poet A.E. Housman, Wenlock Edge, along with The Long Mynd and The Wrekin, beckon to the walker and explorer. Whether limestone or volcanic, wooded or moorland they reward the intrepid with peaceful nooks, grand views and surprising corners.

And right there in the middle of it all is Stoke’s Barn. Or indeed ‘Barns’ as there are two self contained barns, The Granary and The Threshing Barn. Both have retained all sorts of charming original features as they have been transformed into dormitory bunk houses for groups. They provide fully equipped kitchens, cosy lounge areas with log burning stoves as well as shared shower and toilet facilities.

Stoke’s Barn is ideally placed as a base to set out and explore the landscape, or to dip into history at the rich heritage of Ironbridge Gorge or the medieval town of Ludlow.
