The Welsh Assembly has given residents, visitors and holiday makers the chance to travel on certain key bus routes for free at the weekends. this is a pilot offer and will be in place from Saturday 8 July 2017 for 1 year

For a year at least you will be able to travel to Barmouth and the Bunkorama free on the Traws Cymru Network at weekends. The T3 goes to Barmouth from Wrexham via Llangollen, Bala and Dolgellau. You can also connect with the free T2 at Dolgellau which connects you to Aberystwyth, Caernarfon Porthmadog and Bangor. This is a fantastic opportunity for walkers and explorers who want to leave the car behind and travel for free at the weekends through some of Wales most Beautiful scenery. This is what happens when you have an assembly that is providing services for the many not the few. From Aberystwyth there is a connection on the T1 to Lampeter and Camarthen and via T1c to Swansea and Cardiff or to Fishguard on the T5. From Cardiff you can get to Builth, Brecon and Newtown on the T4. on the T6 you can get from Swansea to Brecon.  Please Please Please help this pilot become a permanent success. This really will be a case of use it or lose it. As for us at the Bunkorama in Barmouth I am so pleased that our guests will be able to get free travel between us and the  HYB in Dolgellau and the Bala Bunkhouse and Bala Backpackers on one direct T3 bus free of charge. And by changing to the T2 at Dolgellau they can get to Corris Hostel and Braich Goch at Corris as well as Toad Hall at Machynlleth and in Aberystwyth  Maes-y-mor or North to Maentwrog Bunkhouse, and Totters in Caernarfon
